Farm Description: We are pleased to offer this Fare Trade Organic lot from Negele Gorbitu that has that has the classic, floral Yirga Cheffe cup profile that is quite enjoyable. The growers at Negele Gorbitu have had the good fortune of becoming a Fair Trade Organic certified cooperative, which is bringing them a higher price for their coffee. With the extra profits they earn they are investing in their community including a school that serves over 300 students and a medical facility.

This coffee has a surprising taste profile because as expected it is sweet and floral, but there is also a nice aggressive chocolate character that is over and above most high quality Yirga Cheffes. In the dry fragrance there is a cocoa powder and a sweet smell of lemon and caramel butter. The cup has a crisp acidity up front with a candied citrus sweetness. This transpires to supremely sweet aromatics with dark toffee, butterscotch, vanilla and tangerine citrus. This coffee is both sweet and clean all the way to the finish, with a ginger note. Creamy in body and mouthfeel giving a citrus cream-soda effect. Truly a unique coffee.

Cupping Notes: Sweet, floral, with a nice aggressive chocolate character. Crisp acidity up front with a candied citrus sweetness. Dark toffee, butterscotch, vanilla and tangerine citrus. Sweet clean finish, with a creamy body and cream-soda mouthfeel.
